I have recently moved to North Carolina from NYC and it has been a 180 but in a very good way. Exploring the wildlife of  Durham and most recently the Smoky Mountains alone has opened my eyes to one of the most  diverse places I have ever visited (and this is a big state!). For hikers, bird watchers, mountain bikers, photographers, joggers, painters, and wanderers of the wilderness NC is a great place to be and settle.
